Keeping in Touch with Customers and Friends
Welcome to our Winter eNewsletter!
It's great to have even more subscribers signed up for our e-Newsletter this year; so an extra special welcome if this is the first time for you!
It has been a busy winter for me... or it seems that way anyway! Life has been full and satisfying - I have been too busy to keep up with all the Moon Pads sewing!! But finally I am sitting at the computer to get this eNewsletter out again!
We loved the visit to Tasmania of Dorothy Maclean, one of the co-founders of Findhorn community in Scotland. I felt very priviledged to meet this humble, wise, energetic, humour-loving gentlewoman in her 80's travelling around the world with the message that each of us CAN turn quietly within and contact Spitit/God (/angels/devas, call it what you will...). Her 2-day workshop in Hobart and 1/2-day at Scamander in the NE of Tas were both fully booked and thoroughly enjoyed by all!
Passion Mats first began as Moon Mats, for women to sleep on at night in relaxed comfort on their heavy days...
Then a chance comment that, "I need it more often than once a month..." led to the development of the Passion Mat...
Now I have a number of customers who have reported two new uses for these mats with their non-slip towelling back and very slippery 'satin' surface: an arthritis sufferer was told by her doctor to use satin pyjamas to facilitate moving around in bed during the night.. but she prefers to sleep on her Passion Mat. and several folk who often take elderly friends in their car have told me that the Passion Mat on the seat makes it so much easier to slide stiff legs around and into the vehicle and out again!

The Keeper should be emptied and washed at least once every eight hours.
At the end of your period give it a really thorough clean using soap and hot water, then rinse well. Some women like to use an old toothbrush to ensure the tiny airholes are clean; others find that a pipe cleaner is useful to make sure the hollow of the pull tab is free of blood. Air dry the Keeper for at least one day before placing in its storage bag. Never store it in a plastic bag, as it can get smelly!
Do NOT use chlorine bleaches and do NOT boil it... both these will damage the natural rubber and reduce its life.
If you need to treat the Keeper to prevent thrush, soak it in a mild (maximum 5:100 dilution) of vinegar and water.
See the comments below from some of my Keeper customers.

What Moon Pads' Customers are saying about our products...
From Yosemite, California, USA: "I was wondering if you have put together a brochure similar to what you have on your website? I would like to keep it handy as in my line of work we have significant turnover (every two years we pretty much have a new crop of employees) and many are young women who have been out of college only one or two years and are interested in promoting health and environmental conciousness yet do not know products like yours exist... It was here at Yosemite that I awoke to the cause and bought my original moonpads about 12 years ago now! thanks and keep up the good work!"
From 'the mainland': "I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the froggy princesses! Thank you so much! And the extra length in the extra large pads means I bet I can use them at night. Hooray! Finally, something leakproof I can use in bed! I never thought I'd say it, but I'm actually kind of looking forward to my period now. ;) thank you and take care."
From Tasmania: "Last month, after recommendation by a friend, I purchased the Keeper rather reluctantly and unsure if it would be worth it or not. When menstruation arrived next time around I took a deep breath and started to use the Keeper, being a total novice. However very quickly I realised how easy and comfortable it is to use and to wear. But above all I realised I just had wasted 25 years of menstruating in discomfort and smell! Also: that now I was able to finally be independent of all these multinational companies producing sanitary pads; that finally the never-ending search for the least irritating product along the aisles of the supermarkets was over; and that I had commenced to really contribute to reducing this unneccesary waste! What a gift. In that sense, truly, I can recommend the Keeper for every woman - I reckon that this is the best thing since sliced bread - and I now actually look forward to be able to menstruate for another 20 years without smell - discomfort - skin irritation - supermarket saga - and contributing to the enormous waste! Get Alive - Get a Keeper ;-))"
And another 'reluctant' Tasmanian: "Some months ago I contacted Pip and asked her to send me The Keeper. I was really interested in this no fuss and practical way of taking care of my 'toxic blush'. However, as a tampon user I was a little hesitant to start so the Keeper stayed in a box alongside the tampons and pads for several cycles. Last cycle I decided to just go ahead and use it. I was going to be away from home for some hours and not be able to get to a ladies room so this would be a good test. Well, all I can say is WOW what an eye opener. I used to use tampons and pads together as I am premenopausal and my cycles are now irregular and heavier than my younger years. My menstruation management always was quite messy (I'm not going into details about flooding the pads etc) it was with some trepidation that I first inserted this not-so-pretty rubber cup. When I arrived home, I rushed to the loo only to find the usual mess did not exist (I will admit to wearing a pad just in case). To my utter surprise I removed the cup with ease and not only that, I know I am harping on it, but no mess. I can't believe that using the Keeper is so clean! I am absolutely delighted with my Keeper. I can hardly wait for my next menstruation. No leaks, no fuss, no mess, no further expense, easy insertion, easy extraction. What I do when I am at home is to bring a small bowl of warm water with me to rinse before inserting again. I am totally gob-smacked that this is not common knowledge. I can recommend this to all women without reservation."

Meet Charlotte and Georgia...
Their mum Kate is one of a number of customers who have found that the Moon Pads 'inserts' make great baby wipes!! Smaller and softer than most family washers, Kate tells me she uses them all the time... and keeps a little stack in every room ready for action! She found them when looking for a non-chemical wipe for Lottie who gets eczema easily.
The 'inserts' are great for washing faces or bottoms, for blowing noses and mopping up small spills... Wet the wipes before you go out and use a Moon Pouch to carry them; the Moon Pouch's second pocket is handy for bringing the dirty ones home separately from any remaining clean ones.
